This â€Å"reality† affect the sub-conscientious of many people with low self-steam and fill the mind of men and women with insecurities about their body images. Plastic surgery appears as an easy solution to this matter, but actually, cosmetic surgery can be just the tip of the iceberg of a more complex issue related with body images problems. Essays on Theory Of Planned Behavior Coursework Theory of Planned Behavior Part A After a series of struggle and determination, I was able to take a stand to make my own decisions. Making my own decisions has been a behavior that I have longed for a long time to attain. Being a married woman, I was under the control of my husband for 18 years. Ajzen’s theory of behavior’s components of behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs, and controls beliefs have been my steering factors (Value Based Management.net, 2009). Behavioral beliefs dictate the possible consequences of the behavior while normative beliefs focus on expectations of others especially with respect to some norms or code of conduct. Control belief construct of Theory of Planned Behavior on the other hand helps an individual to understand and identify factors that facilitate or impede performance of the behavior (Value Based Management.net, 2009). I came to realize that once I understood the likely consequences of being independent from the behavioral belief, th e societal (normative) expectations of my environment, and the various factors that may facilitate or impede taking an independent stand; it was easier to change my behavior. However, despite the fact that I managed to change from being controlled to being independent, I have tried in vain to quit smoking. I have applied numerous ways like the gum, doctor prescribed pills and lollipops that have a less nicotine in them, and E cigarettes but can’t seem to quit totally. The controls belief factor of addiction has prevented me from quitting the behavior (Bledsoe, 2005). Growing up as a child for Karl was hard. His parents were abusive, being so young and naive he did not know any better. Karl parents also made him do horrific things, such as giving him his baby brother and telling him to get rid of it. Karl owns nothing but three books, the clothing on his back and has nowhere to stay. Gerry Karl’s doctor finds Karl a job fixing mechanic equipment, which allowed him to live there also. Karl goes back to visit Frank and meet his mom Linda and her boyfriend Doyle. Later on Karl moves in with them. Doyle Hargrave is a disrespectable person, who lacks the ability to be a father figure to Frank. He puts his friends down, curses and fights with Linda all the time. He has no remorse for nothing he does. Karl tries to keep Frank in line when he often says â€Å"I wish Doyle was dead† or curses and encourages him. Karl becomes Frank’s role model. Learning about Frank’s hatred towards Doyle, Karl is willing to sacrifice his freedom to save Frank. Doyle permanently moves in with Linda and will now pay the bills. In other words he is in charge and so he asks Karl to leave. Karl has been a role model for Frank and considers Frank special to him. Karl is also brave enough to stand up to Doyle when he attempts to lay his hands on Frank. Now that Karl is leaving Frank will forever be unhappy. It seems as if Doyle will never change his ways and Frank might end up getting hurt.
